Craig Norgate was a New Zealand business leader who served as the inaugural CEO of Fonterra dairy co-operative before taking on the role of CEO of the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants. In 2014, he oversaw the merging of Chartered Accountants Australia and Chartered Accountants New Zealand.
After his sudden passing in 2015, the Craig Norgate Memorial Scholarships were created in 2017 to honour his legacy and help aspiring accountants to pave their own paths to success by providing them with $5,000 financial support to complete the CA Program.
Kaitlin Corrigan and Chris Wakefield were the 2018 scholarship winners and have found it has already opened several doors for both of them. Kaitlin is currently undertaking the CA Program and working towards making a difference in society.
"If I can emulate even a portion of the great things [Craig Norgate] achieved, it would be great. He's got a very good history of achievements and he is very well-known."
Chris has since taken on the role of COO at Investment Society and feels the scholarship has put him on the right path to achieve his goals.
