What are you studying?

Law and Accounting.

Why did you want to become a CA Student Rep?

I am now in my second year at Victoria University studying Law and Commerce, majoring in Accounting. I applied for this role in order to develop key skills to pursue my career. This role will enhance my communication skills through liaising with students and professionals. Furthermore, I was keen to be amongst a great team. It can be difficult to get the right information to make the correct choices, I am eager to help students with this. You can think of me as a friendly face who will take anyone under my wing!

How do you want to make a difference in the world?

One of my biggest goals is to work at orphanages and help those that have less than me. Business wise I aim to use my skills to get into a high enough role to make an impact on many things. An example is ensuring that all employees are treated equally.

What are your career/life aspirations?

I aim to become a successful accountant but the most important thing to me is to being satisfied with what I am doing and the difference I am making.

If you had any advice for your fellow students about tackling university or preparing for the 'real' world, what would it be?

I think I would tell them not to worry too much, everyone has so much parental and social pressure these days and I think people should stop and think about what they want to do and what their reasons are for doing it! Get involved in student life and aim to achieve a good balance between study, work, friendships and time for you!

What would you tell someone who is thinking about studying business/accounting?

Not only does this degree grant the ability to become an accountant, but, the ability to start a business or make wise financial decisions in everyday life. The choices that this degree gives you are huge. Furthermore, accounting is not all about numbers!
