Craig Hebblethwaite

What are you studying?

Bachelor of Law conjoint with Bachelor of Commerce, majoring in Accounting and Finance.

Why did you want to become a CA Student Rep?

Becoming a CA Student Rep is a good opportunity for me to use my communicative and soft skills as well as learn more about the industries, people and the way things work in the accounting/business world in a more practical sense. It gives me a chance to encourage others to pursue a fulfilling accounting career and leads me closer to where I want to be after graduation.

What you are interested in outside of Uni and work?

My interests include traveling, sports and fitness, craft beer, culture.I am one of the founding executive members of the UoA African Student Society as the Treasurer. I also am on the Exec team of Beta Alpha Psi as the Service (charity) Events Officer and I work part time at my family Craft Brewery.

What are your career/life aspirations?

I have always dreamt of a job where I get to travel a lot and also work on big business issues and projects in a team-orientated environment.

What was your fondest memory from university so far?

Forming the African Student Society as a support network for African students at the University of Auckland.

Tell me how you first got involved in with accounting/business, what inspired you?

In year 11 a rep from CA ANZ came to my high school to give a presentation in getting CA qualified and since that day, that is exactly what I've been working towards.
