Daniel Dal Bello

What are you studying?

Accounting and Finance.

How do you want to make a difference in the world?

I want to make a difference in the world through connecting with those around me, by adding value in my relationships and giving back when I can. If I can make a difference in the lives and businesses of my clients, friends, and family then I'm on the right path to making a difference in the wider world.

How would your friends, family or a colleague describe you?

Fun, driven, and possibly a little bit too organised. I'm someone who likes to pay extreme attention to detail, in all aspects of my life. I really value sticking to my word, if I said I'll be there - I'll be there. I'm proud that people around me see me as reliable, trustworthy, and as someone you can count on to get the job done right, the first time.

What you are interested in outside of Uni and work?

Outside of university, I love to play tennis. It's a game that truly excites me each and every week, not only for the physical components of the game, but the mental side. Tennis is a game where someone of a high skill level can lose to a much lesser skilled opponent, simply on mental toughness. Tennis keeps me physically fit, while constantly developing my mental toughness and resilience. Playing each week teaches me many skills transferable to the workplace, such as: communication, teamwork (doubles), conflict resolution (score disputes), and importantly the ability to function under pressure and stay composed.

What was your first impression of studying accounting/business?

This is where I want to be, I knew from the beginning that I was in the right place. I'd dabbled in engineering and marketing, but once I picked up accounting and began my commerce degree, I knew that I had finally made the right choice for my future. From my first commerce lecture, I knew I was on track to achieve my goals in life and in business.

What would you tell someone who is thinking about studying business/accounting?

Think about what you like doing and what you're interested in, what your strengths are, and where you want to be in 10 years. Accounting is the greatest base for a career in business out there, it will give you the grounding you need to succeed in the world of business. If you're interested in being an accountant, financial planner, CFO, or CEO - study accounting, and if you go absolutely all in on your strengths, you will succeed.
