Joel Teo

What are you studying?

Finance and Accounting.

Why did you want to become a CA Student Rep?

I wanted to become a Chartered Accountant Student Representative because I understood the unique opportunities that this role provides. Since I have been apart of the CA Student Representative team, I have been able to improve my interpersonal development, build my confidence in public speaking and network with industry professions and like minded students, all while being mentored by a prestigious professional body recognised for its high standards, both professional and ethically.

How do you want to make a difference in the world?

Fortunately for myself, I discovered my passion for business at a fairly young age but I can I understand that for many others, the decision for their future can come across as daunting and far out of reach. I would love to do my bit in this world by helping high school students. Sharing as much knowledge and personal experiences to aid them in their decisions when it comes to applying for university courses or any other pathways in life. I understand the importance of staying on the right track, which is why I feel reaching out to high school students and empowering them with options for their future in their final years is important. I believe this emphasis on the youth plays an important role in changing the world for continuous positive development.

What you are interested in outside of Uni and work?

Basketball and the army.
