What are you studying?
LLB/BCom in Accounting.
Why did you want to become a CA Student Rep?
I love the idea of helping people to consider a pathway that they may not have initially been interested in, but can grow on them when they realise the opportunities and the wide variety of jobs it can lead to. I'm also excited to work with a fun, passionate team, and to meet lots of people and make connections.
How do you want to make a difference in the world?
I would love to use both of my degrees to make an impact, particularly in the rights of women and children - how I will do that however, I am yet to figure out! I am also a big believer that even the smallest change can make a difference so I love getting involved in my community whenever I can!
What are your career/life aspirations?
I would love to be in a career where I am motivated to go to work every day knowing that I am working with people who inspire me and in a job where I am making a difference in this world.
If you had any advice for your fellow students about tackling university or preparing for the 'real' world, what would it be?
To get as much experience as possible so you can see what you love. I recommend being proactive and taking a CV around small to medium sized firms of the field you may like to work in, and ask for a summer job. Most employers remember what it was like trying to get that first job and will appreciate the effort.
What was your first impression of studying accounting/business?
A lot of confusion! I'd never done it at school and had no idea what was going on, while everyone else seemed to think it was simple! A rough introduction but I grew to love it!
