Craig Norgate was often described as a visionary, passionate and influential business leader. He led the 2014 merger between Chartered Accountants Australia and the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants organisation to become Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. He played an important role in the formation of Fonterra and was the dairy co-operative's first chief executive. 

To honour and celebrate Craig Norgate’s contribution to the profession and community, Chartered Accountants ANZ is offering two annual memorial scholarships which will support the next generation of CA’s from New Zealand and Taranaki region. 

There are two annual scholarships available, each valued at NZ $5,000 each. The scholarships aim to financially support emerging leaders from New Zealand and Taranaki region who have chosen a career in accounting and commerce and have started their studies within the CA Program.

  • 1. The Craig Norgate New Zealand Memorial Scholarship

    Selection Criteria

    The scholarship is open to approved CA Provisional members, who are currently enrolled and at any stage of the CA Program. Eligible applicants also need to be currently residing in New Zealand Aotearoa.

    In memory of what Craig stood for and championed, consideration will be given to those who can demonstrate emerging leadership, community spirit and action, big thinking and bold ideas, entrepreneurship and business acumen, diversity and cultural pride, passion and drive.

    Value

    The successful winner of the Craig Norgate New Zealand Memorial scholarship will receive NZ $5,000 in one instalment, to assist them with study related expenses as part of the CA Program.

  • 2. The Craig Norgate Taranaki Memorial Scholarship

    Selection Criteria

    The scholarship is open to approved CA Provisional members, who are currently enrolled and at any stage of the CA Program.

    This scholarship honours Craig's strong Taranaki connections. Therefore, eligible applicants need to demonstrate to be either from, currently living in or closely connected to the Taranaki region of New Zealand.

    In memory of what Craig stood for and championed, consideration will be given to those who can demonstrate emerging leadership, community spirit and action, big thinking and bold ideas, entrepreneurship and business acumen, diversity and cultural pride, passion and drive.

    Value

    The successful winner of the Craig Norgate Taranaki Memorial Scholarship will receive NZ $5,000 in one instalment, to assist them with study related expenses as part of the CA Program.
